On the occasion of one Pearl D. Fisher’s acceptance into a joint educational venture between Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the summer of 2025, we are reminded of the importance of personal aspiration, developmental resilience, the characteristically British Stiff Upper Lip, and Joe Strummer’s defiantly hot guitar licks.

It is in this spirit that we endeavor to charter an association whereby our members would gather, not only for mirthful fellowship, but also to remind Pearl of the power of community as she ventures far from home. We invite you to join the Cambridge Calling Foundation.

As with any society, there must be a healthy exchange of dues and benefits, not least of which is the value of sending our young Pearl into a vibrant, historic, and (ahem) expensive land like the United Kingdom on an educational ambassadorship to collectively better us all.

Henceforth, we establish not only this soon to be venerable club, but also the benefits enumerated herein. All are welcome who would support education in pursuit of a better tomorrow.

Peterhouse, which welcomes the Cambridge Experience every summer, is the university's oldest college, founded in 1284. The Cambridge Experience offers students an opportunity to delve into subjects that fascinate them guided by university teachers and creative professionals. Pearl has chosen to major in Creative Writing, and will explore the craft through a practical exploration of the forms, techniques and routines involved in the creative process.
